It's Here!!!!

Okay so I didn't jump and down like I did when I got my earrings, but I did meet the mail woman at the door and practically snatched it out of her hands. What caused such excitement?

My new (to me) Lendrum Double Treadle Complete. Isn't she gorgeous? Adele, the Canadian Production wheel still lives here and probably always will, but she's too much wheel for me. She has two speeds fast and faster. I also wanted a wheel to take to spin nights at my other local knitting shop. I originally thought I'd get an Ashford Traveller, but the Lendrum was a better buy. I'd been trying to buy a wheel for months. What brought it to a head is that Adele needs some TLC and she will get it, but I really want to enter a skein in the Maryland Sheep Wool skein competition. I have no chance of winning but each entrant does a receive a critique. For me this is quite a stretch. I've spent most of my life flying quietly under the radar. I can't tell you why I set this goal, it just seemed like a good idea.

Anyway back to the wheel. I put an ad on Ravelry and within 12 hours had an offer. Cathy in Anchorage made it happen and now we're both happy! For once in my life there's no buyer's remorse, I'm just one happy spinner.

It spins like buttah, but I'm still the same spinner, some over twisted, some not twisted enough. Practice, practice, practice. SIGH (very big grin)

TTYL!!

P.S. I just realized the carrying bag is missing from the photo. She really is complete!

Congrats on your new addition. I would be too afraid to use it and can see it as a great art piece in my home :)

Congratualtions! My sister got the same wheel last Fall and loves it! And good for you for entering your handspun... that takes commitment. You're an inspiration to this procrastinating chicken.

Congrats and good luck with the spinning. I know how exciting it is to get a "new" wheel. I'm going to learn how to use mine this year.
