5 Years!!

Five years ago today, I received my new kidney. While I have many family members, for various reasons they were not a match, so my new kidney came from a cadaver. I never met him. Nor have I ever been able to thank his family to tell them what their generous gift means to me. I avoided dialysis and lead a normal life with no restrictions. Their gift meant a new life, not only for me but for countless others. If you're an organ donor, I thank you on behalf of individuals you will never know. If you're not, please consider it. If you know a living donor, give them a hug!!!

TTYL,

Melodye

Melodye,
I'm so happy for you. I have several family members that are on dialysis or have had to take dialysis in the past. I am an organ donor and I encourage others to donate. I am wishing you many more years of good health!! maybe I'll see you again when I visit my brother in MD again.

My brother is waiting for a kidney. He should be placed on the active waiting list as soon as his doctor receives the results from his colonoscopy. As you said, family members are either not matches or not good candidates. Reading your post gave me hope that my brother will be able to celebrate the anniversary of his transplanted Kidney. May God bless you and keep you in good health!

Oh goodness ... I know the recipient of a living donor, a lady I work with. It's amazing. I hope you stay well and healthy! Take care of yourself!

WOW! I am no idea...
My daughter works for the national branch of the Association for Organ Procurement as their event planner for their training sessions and medical conferences. She lost a good friend in an accident and after she saw the good that came from his donations she decided to make it her life's work. She sees miracles happen everyday.
Congratulations!

PS This is Araignee signed in under her gmail account btw.

I'm so excited to know this. When I was a at-home mother and we only had one car, I learned Braille and ended up transcribing materials on renal dialysis for diabetic patients. Now it's all done my computer. Ian and I are both organ donors, though I don't know how much life my organs have any more. Congratulations Melodye. How wonderful for family who lost their loved one - that person is living still. I have gooseflesh.

My verification word is verbo - I think it's because I use too many words. Excited.
