Wow! As the kids would say, “it’s been a minute” since I’ve been here. First, thanks for all the comments on the suit. I enjoyed making it and have been planning another one. However, yard work is taking all my free time. I’d much rather be sewing, especially since summer paid us a visit this week and I realized just how inadequate my work wardrobe is in its present state. Hopefully another two weekends will see the bulk of the yard work finished. Trying to cram it all in after work and on Saturday is the pits.
If you’re in the area and are interested in a New York fabric shopping trip, check out www.dressed2aTee.blogspot.com. She’s got a trip going and needs at least one more person to fill the bus. But even if you’re not interested in the trip, check out her blog anyway. She’s a fantastic seamstress and really gets the most out of the Pattern Maker Boutique software.
Anyone else going to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival? I’m getting excited. I kept my pledge of no new yarn until the Sheep and Wool Festival. It also helps that I’m the world’s slowest knitter and that I stayed away from the crack dens. I’m really only looking for fiber to spin, and some cute yarn for another sweater for DGD. For some reason lately, I’m feeling guilty that I don’t knit for the other 2 grandkids and great niece. So I’ll probably add some yarn for them. And some silk lace weight for a shawl for me. Not only do I need 30 hour days, another set of hand would be nice, too.
Right now, I’m working on Soleil, from Knitty. It’s my first introduction to lace and it’s also a quick knit. I started it about 2 weeks ago and if I did nothing else, I’d get it finished. Hopefully, by my birthday!
TTYL!
