Yes, it's been a minute as the kids would say. I've completed physical therapy and the doc has released me! I'm back to doing the things I love, but only for short periods. I'm also doing water aerobics and yoga. Lots of stretching. Between all of this I really don't have a lot of time to do anything else. I feel fine, a little stiff at times, but that could just be age. LOL
I'm going to repeat what I told CiCi, please take care of yourself and listen to your bodies. Don't sit in the same position for too long, take breaks and stretch and every so often get up and move around. If I can save anyone else from what I've been through it will almost have been worth it.
I've been doing some knitting for Colours and trying to work on some things for myself but where to start? I'm working on a fake-a-gamo for my mother (finally), a scarf for a 10 year old and her mother I'm teaching to knit; a pair of yoga socks; and the ruffled edge wrap from Vogue Knitting. A far cry from my monogamous knitting.
I've also been spinning. I received the grayish looking roving from the Spincycle group on Ravelry. As soon as I saw it, I knew what I wanted to do with it. I spun it as a single and then spun the burgundy and lavender as singles. Then I plied them together. It looks just as I thought. I think it's a bit thinner than I wanted but I won't know for sure until I knit a sample. The first picture shows 2 different batches of yarn. The one that's more gray only has the original roving and the burgundy. I ran out of the lavender and didn't have anything else that went with the other two.
I'm planning to make a shawl with the yarn in the next picture, I've got approximately 500 yards of it. The second batch, I'm not sure yet what it's going to become. I will admit to a bit of pride. I looked at it one morning, and just grinned.
As usual this way longer than I'd planned.

Melodye
P.S. There's a 90 year-old woman in the yoga class. She puts us all to shame. I believe she lives alone, but she still drives. I can only imagine!

I'm glad you are posting again! I was getting a little worried about you giving up the blog!
Your spinning is absolutely wonderful, you are doing excellant work for a beginner, I should say your not a beginner at all :o)...Do you belong to a Spinning group? I'm ready to give up my weaving and spinning group. For reasons I won't publish here....Enjoy the craft,it's a delightful hobby..
Good to have you back. I totally agree with what you say about taking care of your body. I learned that when I had to have neck surgery.
Thanks for this message this morning, I needed to hear it. I am starting to feel the effects of working at a computer all day and sitting at sewing machine and not stopping to take care of myself. Always feel I don't have the time. So glad to have you back, and thank you.
