First Hand Spun, Hand Knit FO!!!
Last night I finished a pair of yoga socks using my own yarn. Whoo Hoo! The yarn is far from perfect, thick and thin in spots, but once it was worked up, it all seemed to even out. I knit them using size three needles so now I need to work on spinning a thicker yarn. I'd like to make a sweater from that Sheltand I have, but I'm not enough of a masochist to knit an adult sweater on size 3 needles. I wore them today and they fit fine. They also help keep my feet warm, but I don't slip.
A couple of details for me:
Yellow fleece was from Cloverhill Yarn Shop and the white I bought at the Sheep and Wool Show last year from Little Barn.
Two ply yarn spun on Lendrum Spinning Wheel.
I don't know how I spin (worsted or woollen) or which draw. There's a spinning workshop at the EAGMA show in Fredrick in June that should help me answer these questions. I'm supposed to take 4 samples of my handspun yarn, so I'm hoping for a written critique or at least in depth enough so I can take notes.
Without further ado:
Next up: First Processed Fleece

Way to go! Do you take yoga or did you just make them for around the house?
I think the socks look great! Congratulations on your spinning and knitting and how wonderful to have others within your reach...to help you to achieve your goals ...
Your socks look very comfy!
There is nothing like wearing your own homespun. It is strange (and wonderful) that no matter how wonky the yarn looks, the finished objects always turn out looking fine. Wool is such magic stuff!
That is awesome, they look great.
They look great. I love the color.
Those socks are a great idea. I can see how you'd still get purchase on the mat with your heels and toes. Is there a pattern for hat or did you make it up??
