That's how long we were without power. 3 hours short of a week. It has been hot and miserable. I have put my foremothers to shame. I am thoroughly spoiled by the amenities of modern life and after this week, I freely admit it. Until last night we spent the nights downstairs. Last night we caved and spent the night in a hotel. It wasn't that it wasn't cool, it felt good until night sweats hit. We were also sleeping on mattresses, so we weren't really that uncomfortable. But between the unrelenting heat and being uncomfortable continually it just got to be too much. I even got tired of eating out! Without the AC this week, it was too hot to think! The generator has been moved to the top of the list!

You lasted much longer than I would have. I'm glad you made it.
Maybe a way to create jobs would be to work on improving the country's infrastructure. I know storms can't be avoided, but there MUST be a way to decrease the impact of a storm.
Glad you all made it through safely. We've had triple digit temps along with extremely high humidity for almost a week. You made it longer than I would have.
Most houses here don't have basements and I actually don't know anyone that does. We would have caved in long ago so I admire you all for sticking it out as long as you did.
How terrible for you! I admit I am spoiled. I'd give up a lot of things in this world but my AC isn't even on the list. I hate hot.
Sorry to hear about your power outage :( and it was so hot! I wish the power companies would reimburse people for the drastic inconveniences they suffered.
Just wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Lovely Blog Award! I am glad to know you!
