This Proves It!!

My family always tells me that I live in my own little world.  There was a 5.9 earthquake and tremors were felt along the east coast.  Family has been calling me all afternoon.  Me - I didn't feel a thing!

I felt it. I was at work on the 4th floor of an 8 floor building, and none of use knew what was going on. It shook pretty hard. I had books and yarn on the floor at home, and a seriously freaked out cat. Whew!

I didn't feel it either. I was waiting for a conference call to start and we couldn't figure out why no one was getting on the call.

Finally someone called and said that they had evacuated, so the meeting was rescheduled. Oh darn!

I had just sat down to knit with a cup of tea when the whole house started shaking like crazy. Water was sloshing out of the fish tank. The noise was like nothing I had ever heard. I had no idea what was going on so I seriously freaked out and ran into the yard where the ground was shaking so hard I couldn't stand up. I shook for hours afterwards and refused to go back in the house. I sat in the driveway and knit until it was time to make dinner. I seriously hate earthquakes even though this was my first and hopefully last one!!!!

I'm so glad I was not the only one who didn't feel anything! I fell asleep on the couch! Now I can tell people I slept through an earthquake! LOL! I went to a mall later in the afternoon and discussed it with a sales associate. We laughed about it and he suggested I not tell anyone I was asleep on the couch during an earthquake! But now that I know I'm not the only one, I'm no longer embarrasses! : )

I was in a workshop at the main building and the floor was moving. Our chairs were moving and so were the pictures on the wall. I'm SC and needless to say it was very unnerving.

When I got back to my office they had felt it out there also so. It was really a hit or miss thing here as my mom didn't feel a thing at the house.
